Economic Develop Grant Funding Program

LEAP has developed a program in which we will fund the cost of grant writing for economic development grant asks for our local communities. Using a local grant writing company, Kuntzsch Business Services, LEAP will match 50% of the grant writing fees up to $2,500 per community. MSHDA Placemaking Initiative

What defines a community? It’s the common ground where people gather – from housing, squares, streets and plazas to parks, green spaces and waterfronts. At MSHDA, we believe that by revitalizing communities and rebuilding neighborhoods, we can strengthen the entire state. Together with our many partners, we invest in Michigan communities to enhance the quality of life of our residents – and to attract and retain businesses, entrepreneurs and workers throughout the state.

The goals of this initiative are:

• Wider range of housing choices including workforce, affordable, rental and owner-occupied

• Wider range of transportation choices including improved transit

• Quality public infrastructure

• Mixed-use development

• Pedestrian orientation

• Many amenities including green and blue infrastructure, bicycle paths and trails, entertainment venues, etc.
