Douglas Salazar, Co-founder of Mowr Technologies. Mowr is a landscaping app that allows users the ability to request lawn mowing, leaf pickup, and snow removal all with an app. Can think of it as the Uber for lawn care! Payment, tipping, and reviews of services are also done within the app. Created by two lansing natives who are entrepreneurs at heart and have founded other small business within their communities over the years, which helped them take Mowr to where it is now. The Mowr app is used all across the country with jobs done in over 20 states. We are striving to become a household name when it comes to landscaping needs.
What inspired you to start a business?
Co-founder Gray Taylor came up with the idea after seeing posts about people needing their lawns cut and seeing his mother out cutting her grass. Thinking there had to be a way that you could request someone to come mow your lawn but in a way that didn’t require the hassle of calling different companies and was more efficient.
What is your vision for the future of your business?
Our vision is for Mowr to become a household name when it comes to landscaping. To make it as easy and convenient as possible.
What goals do you hope the Ascend program will help you achieve?
We are looking to gain some business insight on how to take Mowr to the next level through mentorship’s, business knowledge access, and potentially put us in the spotlight for investors. As well as gain a strong foothold over the mid-Michigan area.
