About Lanitra

My name is Lanitra Middlebrook. I am a mother of eight children and I have been doing hair my entire life. It all started with dolls when I was very young, about four years old, and eventually that seed my mother planted in me would blossom into what is now my day to day routine.

My inspiration to own and operate a beauty salon came from my old boss, Ms. Fonda Brewer, who would soon become my godmother, and my mentor. Once she decided to close the doors of her salon, The Weave and Lash Bar, I had no idea what I would do or where I would go. My fiancé only wanted me to be happy so he said “you will start your own,” and we did. It took a lot of trial and error but with support from friends, family and existing clientele that believed in my vision, AddiXions Salon came to pass.

The salon is filled with like-minded individuals and we call each other family and we work together to ensure that we are all successful. My vision for the future of the business is to continue to be the light to our community in every way possible, whether it is to continue to uplift the self-esteem of others through hair, or through a social media platform, mentoring the youth that has a desire to do hair and even a podcast that helps young ladies that have a desire to do hair or that just can’t afford the services and have to do things themselves.

We understand that self-esteem is extremely important, and we want to make sure that everyone no matter the color of your skin, your age, your ethnicity, your financial situation, all have access to us who love what we do. My goal and hope is that the One & All program will provide the necessary tools and resources to help strengthen my business so that I can continue to employ great people from our community.
