About Sidney
Sidney McCalib is the founder of Next Up Michigan, a news and media production company that focuses on telling the stories of Michigan’s urban communities, culture, and dynamics. Sidney started Next Up Michigan to be a source of Black representation in news and media, and to ensure those stories are being told from a genuine and passionate platform.
Why Lansing?
The Greater Lansing region became an unexpected home to me in my teenage years. It gave me the people and exposure I needed to become a well-rounded individual. The inpouring of the city’s love, and the nature of the inpouring, directly inspired me to do the same for the city in a calculated and grand way.
