About James

James is passionate about faith, family, fairness, equity, inclusion, and Fatherhood. He is originally from New Jersey. He currently resides in the Greater Lansing Area. James serves as a Transportation Diversity Recruitment Strategy Coordinator at the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). His passion for youth development is strong. Over the past 9 years he served as the MDOT Workforce Development Programs Coordinator for prosperity regions 7 and 9; which includes 9 counties including the Greater Lansing Area, Jackson Area, Ann Arbor Area, and Monroe Area.

James is committed to community. He  sits on 3 nonprofit executive boards; Capital Area College Access Network (CAPCAN), InvolvedDad (ID) and Vice President of the Lansing Youth Football League (LFL).  He is also a member of Capital Area Mentoring Partnership (CAMP). Additionally, he spent more than 20 years as a coach and mentor helping to support and develop youth and young adults.

James currently participates on MDOT’s Diversity and Inclusion Team, James specializes in K-12 School workforce development outreach, College outreach and recruiting, MDOT YDMP student participant success and retention, youth program development, networking, and post-secondary opportunity culture building.
