LEAP Launches Business Attraction Social Campaign to Amplify Regional Narrative

Campaign Seeks Community Voices to Share Experiences from Across Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties

LANSING, Mich. –The Ledges in Grand Ledge. The riverfront in downtown Lansing. A patch of wildflowers in Delta Township Park. A soccer match. Beaumont Tower in East Lansing. Windwalker in Charlotte. Three Counties. One Region. #MiLansing—the tagline for the Lansing Economic Area Partnership’s (LEAP) new #MiLansing digital media campaign, which launched this morning.
#MiLansing is a LEAP-facilitated social media campaign that will leverage community voices to showcase the distinct experiences and places that make Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties a top choice for people and businesses from around the world. The campaign’s talent attraction and retention focus connects to larger business attraction and development goals for LEAP on behalf of the region.

“There is a need for this type of community content to enhance our already hugely successful business attraction efforts,” said Bob Trezise, LEAP’s president & CEO. “We wanted to capture the region’s spirit in this campaign to give a real picture of the region as a competitive and exciting environment that competes and attracts businesses and people.”

Participating in #MiLansing is easy. People throughout Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties can post photos on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook of the places, events and experiences that define “their” connection to the Lansing three county region using the #MiLansing hashtag and tagging LEAP (@purelansing). Interested participants can visit www.purelansing.com/milansing for resources and inspiration. There will also be a #MiLansing Snapchat filter available throughout Lansing and East Lansing during Be a Tourist in Your Own Town Saturday, June 1.

“#MiLansing is about celebrating the region through the eyes of its communities by elevating their stories, rather than controlling a narrative,” said Katlyn Lindstrom, LEAP’s marketing content manager. “Leveraging user-generated content allows us to maintain a focus on the region’s people and favorite places as we amplify their voices to show what so many of us already know: this region, our region, is vibrant and exciting and whatever you want it to be.”
