Madalyn Dessy is a senior at Michigan State University studying Environmental Economics and Management. She is from Rochester Hills, Michigan, but spends a lot of her time near the Sleeping Bear Dunes in Glen Arbor, Michigan, where her family enjoys visiting.
Madalyn was drawn to her major by her love for the environment and her interest in discovering new ways to balance sustainability with economic development goals. During her One and All Program internship with LEAP, she hopes to learn more about what goes into economic development and entrepreneurship, especially at the local level here in Lansing.
Following her internship with LEAP, she hopes to use her newfound skills and knowledge to further her understanding of economic development and find new ways to make it more sustainable for future generations to come. Madalyn’s career goals include a career in environmental consulting and to hopefully return to MSU to earn her master’s in Environmental Economics and Management.
