Meet the Interns: Amanda Miner, Marketing

My name is Amanda Miner, a third-year marketing student at the MSU Broad College of Business. In 2018, I co-founded a sustainable reversible clothing company called INFKNIT Apparel with three other business students. We filed a patent, ran a successful Kickstarter campaign, and even got featured on WXYZ Detroit.

Throughout my own startup journey, I learned more about myself and developed invaluable skills unique to founding a business. I am no longer playing an active role in this business venture, but my experience founding a company taught me lessons that I can take into my future business ventures and career. During my time at LEAP, I hope to help others have the same opportunity to follow their passions and launch their own businesses.

I have always had a passion for serving and helping others. After taking a course on nonprofits, I was interested in gaining experience in the nonprofit sector. I thrive in the entrepreneurial space and plan to incorporate it in my career goals, regardless the industry or sector I am in.

My intern project at LEAP is envisioning and developing the framework and strategy for a podcast to support the One&All program. The goal of the podcast is to show what LEAP’s One&All Initiative is doing to help elevate undeserved entrepreneurs in the Lansing area and to take part in conversations that provide resources for building an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem for members of the Lansing regional community and beyond. I plan to inform the community about the ALICE threshold, highlight mentor-mentee relationships, and interview program champions and partners to learn their keys to success. In addition to showcasing One&All, I plan to make the podcast adaptable and transferrable to LEAP’s other entrepreneurial initiatives.

I am excited to start a podcast from the ground up and work with other entrepreneurs throughout the process. I’m fortunate to be part of a team that cares so much about others in our community, and I look forward to getting to know as much of the LEAP team as possible.
