New Lansing Mayor Andy Schor Takes Seat On Lansing EDC Board

Mayor Schor Determined To Further Accelerate Growth Of Lansing

LANSING, Mich. – The Lansing Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) Board is set to welcome newly elected Lansing Mayor Andy Schor as he takes his seat on the EDC Board of Directors, during the first EDC Board meeting of 2018 scheduled to take place on Friday, January 12. The LEDC manages economic development for the City of Lansing including the City’s Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (BRA), Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA), and Regional SmartZone.

“Lansing is moving in the right direction and I look forward to continuing to accelerate our growth,” said Mayor Schor. “I’m happy to be working closely with the EDC Board and Board Chair Andrea Ragan, and the EDC management company LEAP and its CEO Bob Trezise, to build a strong and stable future for Lansing.”

Friday’s board meeting will cover a number of important agenda items including a proposed microloan for Mr. Taco in South Lansing, and the successful repayment of an EDC loan by medical device manufacturer Mobius.

“Myself as the EDC Board Chair and my Board colleagues, are committed to supporting Mayor Schor’s vision for growing our city,” said Board Chair Andrea Ragan. “We welcome Mayor Schor as a board member, look forward to a long and successful partnership, and we thank him for his support.”

Friday’s EDC Board meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. and will be held at the Lansing Ecomomic Area Partnership (LEAP) office located at 1000 S Washington Ave, Suite 201 in Lansing’s REO Town.
