The Grand Experience Will Activate the Lansing River Front This Summer

Food Trucks, Music, and Art to Liven Lansing River Trail

LANSING, Mich. – The Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), the Community Foundation, Greater Lansing Regional Prosperity Initiative, Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, The Rotary Foundation, Michigan Realtors Association, and the Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority (LEPFA) were joined by the community to kick off The Grand Experience on the Lansing River Trail this afternoon outside the Lansing City Market.

Running through August 14, The Grand Experience will bring food vendors and local musicians, will highlight recreational activities, and the new ArtPath along the River Trail. Food and activities will be available during lunch and dinner Monday-Friday with each day offering a different compliment of vendors.

Attendees at today’s event received $5 vouchers to use at food vendors any time during the summer long event. Vouchers will continue to be available in the coming weeks.

“Through LEAP’s regional placemaking work, we recognize that people gathering in public spaces builds a stronger sense of pride within the community,” said Bob Trezise, President and CEO of LEAP. “Other communities are activating urban spaces in this way, and our river front is a key asset and great place for us to invest as well. The Grand Experience is a way to connect downtown employees and residents with what Lansing has to offer.”

A weekly schedule of food vendors, musicians, and activities is available on the Lansing City Market website.
