About Alexandra
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
I became an entrepreneur driven by my deep commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of black business owners in Lansing. My decision was influenced by my experiences in a previous role where I perceived racial and gender bias hindering my ability to climb the corporate ladder and reach my full potential. This realization fueled my determination to create a platform that not only connected me with mentors in the business community who wholeheartedly believed in diversity, equity, and inclusion but also allowed me to serve as a mentor for aspiring black entrepreneurs who come after me. My entrepreneurial journey is rooted in a desire to dismantle barriers, provide support, and foster a more inclusive and equitable environment for the next generation of entrepreneurs in our region.
What are you hoping to achieve with your business idea?
I hope that as I empower black business owners who have already started their entrepreneurial journey we will inspire more individuals to take a chance on themselves and pursue entrepreneurship as a career option. By creating a community of strong black entrepreneurs, I aim to foster an environment where aspiring individuals feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to start their own businesses. I believe that through this collective effort, we can contribute to the growth and success of a diverse array of businesses, ultimately enriching our community and promoting economic empowerment for all.
