What is your business/idea?

My business idea is to establish a restaurant that serves food from a number of countries and caters to community members from all walks of life.

What inspired you to start a business?

My family has multigenerational experience working as chefs and operating restaurants across multiple countries and cities in the Arab world. I am inspired to start a restaurant based on my expertise as a chef and restauranteur, which stems from my passion for mastering the cooking of international cuisines.

How did you get to the point you are today with this business/idea?

My idea to start a restaurant is based on my history as a professional chef with over 10 years of experience. I launched and operated 3 successful restaurants with my husband across Jordan before moving to the United States. I have spent my career as a chef, and cooking is a part of my family’s identity.

What is your vision for the future of your business?

My goal is to start The Family Restaurant and serve the dishes my husband and I specialize in cooking. I want my restaurant to be a welcoming dine-in space for families, a place where they can gather and spend time together. We would like to offer both dine-in and delivery options to the Lansing community.

What goals do you hope the One and All program will help you achieve?

Through the One and All program, I hope to gain a strong understanding of the practical steps I need to take to successfully establish my business in Lansing, as well as to develop a professional network of experts and peers to support me throughout the process.
