About Terry
Terry C. Cannon, a Lansing, MI native, Army veteran, licensed builder that is a remodeler, former building inspector for the City of Lansing, former realtor, former lead abatement supervisor, former facilities management team member for Michigan State University. I have been licensed, owned and operated C.H.R. Services, LLC (goes by CHR Services) since 1992. I have vast experience and knowledge in rehabilitating, renovating, remodeling, and restoring, newer and older homes. Most of the projects that we complete involve us completely tearing out the inside, upgrading the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items as well as opening/closing space to create the space that our clients desire. We are committed to providing professional services with respect given to the people that we work for, their people, pets, and property.
What inspired you to start a business?
My love for my craft and my great grandmother, Luretta Nelson, telling me my entire childhood that God had called me to be a businessman. I began by doing home repairs on the side of having maintenance jobs, it didn’t become a full reality until I passed the builder’s licensing exam in 1992. Upon being notified that I had passed, I immediately bought a van, had a friend’s son paint my logo on the side and went straight to my great grandmother’s house. She cried when she saw it and told me that I had succeeded in doing what God called me to do and stated that the rest is just how much money you make.
What is your vision for the future of your business?
My vision for CHR Services is to be a remodeling firm that provides a great place for its team members to grow and be employed at, to be a professional solution to our clients’ needs, and to Help Others Maintain Excellence (HOME) in our community.
What goals do you hope the Elevate program will help you achieve?
It is my hope that the Elevate program will help to equip me with the skills, knowledge and business acumen to be able to lead my team members in the right direction to achieve our company and their personal goals.
