National Recognition Highlights Lansing Region’s Economic Development Talent

 

Lansing, Mich. (July 23, 2025) — The Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) is proud to announce that Emma Bostwick, LEAP’s Vice President of Business Attraction, has been named one of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers by Consultant Connect. The prestigious annual award honors economic development professionals who demonstrate excellence in innovation, leadership, and measurable community impact.

“Emma’s recognition is not only a testament to her incredible leadership and creativity as an individual—but also a reflection of LEAP’s regional and holistic approach to economic development, which centers around shared opportunity, innovative partnerships, and community collaboration,” said Bob Trezise, President and CEO of LEAP. “Her work to support high-impact projects and programs is helping to build a more prosperous future for our region.” 

Emma leads LEAP’s Regional Growth team, driving efforts to attract new business investments while strengthening the foundation of our existing business community and quality of place.  

 

Impact Under Bostwick’s Leadership 

  • Facilitated Canadian automotive supplier Markdom International’s decision to open their first US manufacturing plant—a $19M investment in Charlotte, Michigan and 170 new regional jobs  
  • Oversaw $25.75M expansion of IONETIX, a global radiopharmaceutical company specializing in targeted cancer therapies, generating 53 high-tech jobs for our region 
  • Joined Governor Whitmer’s delegation on a South Korean FDI mission to promote business investment opportunities in Michigan 
  • Administered critical pandemic relief programs in Ingham and Clinton counties to support the rebound of our small business community 
  • Launched and continues to co-lead the Capital Area Child Care Coalition which focuses on high quality childcare for local families, key for sustained economic and workforce development

Honorees Recognition Ceremony 

Bostwick, will be formally recognized at Consultant Connect’s ECONOMIX conference in Lake Nona, Florida, on November 12, 2025. Beginning May 7, Consultant Connect will spotlight each honoree on LinkedIn, offering a platform for professional insight and national visibility.
