Gillespie Group 600 Block Project

LEAP THRIVE is proud to have partnered with Gillespie Group as their nonprofit co-developer to bring this project to reality. With additional economic development partners MEDC, MSHDA, City of Lansing and its Lansing EDC, and LEAP, all had to step up to make the $7.2M redevelopment project feasible. The project will create 15 housing units, including affordable units, while also revitalizing nearly 6,900 square feet of commercial retail space on first floors of these critical Stadium District buildings. LEAP THRIVE acts as a financial partner that is responsible for injecting public fund sources into the project, both as subgrantee to LEAP for the $3M MSHDA grant appropriated by Senator Anthony’s office in the 2025 state budget, and then also as the direct grant recipient of a $617,210 MEDC Revitalization and Placemaking (RAP) award. The two fund sources together constitute approximately half of the total capital stack, and were essential to making the project financially viable. LEAP THRIVE is proud to be serving in this capacity, as a creative financing platform for community-oriented development projects in the Lansing tri-county region of Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.
