ATESTEO Continues to Receive Accolades for its Significant Investment in Greater Lansing Region

International drivetrain company receives Global Impact Foreign Direct Investment Award from Lansing Regional Sister Cities Commission

ATESTEO, the international drivetrain testing company which opened its North American headquarters in East Lansing with support from the Lansing Area Economic Partnership (LEAP), continues to be recognized for its investment in our community.

On Sept. 14, ATESTEO received the Global Impact Foreign Direct Investment Award at the 30th Anniversary Global Diversity Celebration of the Lansing Regional Sister Cities Commission. The event was attended by more than 300 community leaders and international guests at the Lansing Center.

“It was an honor and a privilege to recognize ATESTEO as our Global Impact Foreign Direct Investment Award recipient, mainly because of Commissioner Keith Lambert, the nominee, who is keenly aware of the operational status of small and large businesses across the region. To be the first on North American soil and the single largest investment in its history speaks to its pioneering and innovative spirit! Sustainable economic development opportunities, cultural and educational experiences are the three pillars on which Lansing Regional Sister Cities Commission stands and we look forward to future opportunities to share the same space! Congratulations and continue to be a model for others to follow,” said Dr. Maxine Hankins Cain, president of Lansing Regional Sister Cities Commission.

Keith Lambert, chief operating officer of LEAP and a key driver in landing the German company in the Tri-County area as part of his regional development work, presented the award to Roy Schulde, president of ATESTEO North America.

“I was honored to recognize ATESTEO for the impact they’ve already had on our community and for the momentum they’ve added to the region as a hub for mobility,” said Lambert. “Events and awards like this help the Lansing Regional Sister Cities Commission to strengthen global linkages and connect Lansing to the rest of the world through global diplomacy.”

“We are thrilled to see our commitment to the community recognized with this prestigious accolade. Our state-of-the-art drivetrain testing and calibration facility will not only drive innovation and economic development in the region but also create good-paying jobs in a thriving industry. I want to express our gratitude to the Lansing region for welcoming us as we establish our North American headquarters, and to all our partners whose collaboration made this investment possible,” said Roy Schulde, president of ATESTEO North America.

ATESTEO’s 35,000 square-foot automobile drivetrain testing facility in East Lansing focuses on electric and hybrid drives—a key piece in propelling the next generation of automotive innovation regionally, nationally, and globally. The facility, which held its grand opening in June, is ATESTEO’s first on North American soil and the single largest investment in its history. With a budget of $27 million, it’s also the largest foreign direct investment in East Lansing’s history.

LEAP worked tirelessly for years to support ATESTEO leadership in selecting the East Lansing location as their new homebase for North American operations. Collaborating with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the City of East Lansing, Lansing Community College, Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW!), developer Gentilozzi Real Estate, and Lake Trust Credit Union, LEAP spearheaded an attractive package of funding, incentives, site selection support, and more to ensure a smooth process to locate this key business here in our community.

ATESTEO, a German-based company which is a leading specialist in drivetrain testing for the automotive industry globally, provides comprehensive testing services with advanced technology and experienced staff.
