About Keyana
What is your business/idea?
I would like to open a hotel that will serve as more than a business. As my goals are very far-fetched, I have created smaller goals for myself to help me reach my big goals. Such as starting a bed and breakfast first that will hold the same core values.
What inspired you to start a business?
My family, friends and the community. I have always wanted to show my nieces and nephews that they can do anything with a little work. I have also always wanted to help those who come from a home without much love feel the love I’ve always felt from my family as that is important.
How did you get to the point you are today with this business/idea?
The support of friends, family, and members of the community. Without the inspiration, encouragement and help KAP Keanu would probably still be a dream. So many individuals has helped make this my reality and push me to do better.
What is your vision for the future of your business?
A big fun environment where you forget about all of your troubles the second you enter the building. Not only a great place to rest but have fun with your family as we will be very family friendly. A world away from the world, I like to think of it as Lansing’s version of “Hakuna Matata,” no worries when you stay.
What goals do you hope the One and All program will help you achieve?
I would love to grow more as a person and entrepreneur with this program. By establishing a proper business plan, adding to startup funds, gaining advice that I may not even know I need and meeting new people.
Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself or your business?
I am currently taking a sign language course so that I can communicate properly with any customer that I come in contact with. Establishing a healthy relationship with everyone that that anyone’s visiting KAP Keanu feels welcomed. I made this decision after having to communicate with customers at work through a pen and paper.
