Tri-county Development Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, creative, passionate and experienced professional to join one of the top regional economic development organizations in the country. This is a high-profile position statewide and throughout the Lansing region of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties. Work partners will include businesses, local communities, local economic development agencies, governments, Michigan State University (MSU), Lansing Community College (LCC), Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW!), and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and others.

The Tri-County Development Manager will provide value-added business attraction, retention and expansion services to businesses and communities throughout the Lansing region, working within LEAP’s Business Attraction division.

This position will help shape and promote the culture of economic development for the Lansing region, leading to new economic development projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of commitment and teamwork, a deep understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, relevant professional experience, a willingness to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, a diverse world outlook and desire to help change and impact the Lansing region with profound passion and vision.

Economic Development Specialist

Seeking a motivated and passionate person to join our team and help create good jobs and great places to live, work and play for all in Lansing, Michigan. As part of our team, the LEAP Economic Development Specialist will work closely with businesses, developers, government, communities and neighborhoods, primarily in the city of Lansing, to generate real and lasting results that will change lives and make Lansing a better city.

The Economic Development Specialist assists LEAP in implementing its regional mission of providing business expansion, attraction, and retention services and helping redevelop blighted, vacant and contaminated properties in an urbanized area.

Success in this position requires a strong sense of commitment, a deep understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, a willingness to learn and the desire to help people, community and business in the Lansing region.  Energy, initiative, passion, smartness, awareness, creativity, powerful work ethic, a diverse world outlook, and appreciation of the free-market system are essential for the Economic Development Specialist role.

Internships and Apprenticeships

LEAP offers unpaid project-based internships and apprenticeships to current college students, University Fellows, and recent graduates. Positions are available spring, summer, and fall.
